Treat others like you want them to treat you.“And as you wish that others would do to you, do so to them”(Luke 6:31-NIV). This is known as the Golden Rule. Most folks have heard this even if they don’t recognize it as Scripture.
When you hear the word boundary, how do you react? Do you think in negative terms and believe that boundaries are restrictive toward your freedom and happiness? A lot of people think that way. But God has laid out a different plan.
The Bible provides God’s wisdom about boundaries as they pertain to both the physical and spiritual realm. Christians must know, understand, and stay within the boundaries that God has set forth in His Word.
It’s no secret that military warriors routinely encounter difficult situations, some of them life-threatening. In most respects this is good. Since 9/11 we have developed a military force that is unmatched at anytime in our history.
As human beings, we certainly don’t need instruction on the many ways to stress out. We’re masters at doing this! What we’re not so good at is simply trusting God. He knows that you and I aren’t robots. He didn’t make us that way. We need time to sleep, to eat, and to rest—and to go on vacation every so often.We can’t keep working all the time.
